  • Workshops on key professional and personal development topics including: leadership, advocacy, cultural competence, life and career planning and graduate education preparation.
  • Site visits to a diverse set of key partner organizations to provide exposure to multiple settings and leaders.
  • Peer support and network among interns within and across regions who share similar interests, passions and career decision dilemmas but come from diverse backgrounds and experiences.

  • Connections to top graduate schools in public health and medicine for assistance with preparation.

Qualifications:

All majors welcome! Demonstrated career interest in health care management, health policy, health education, community health and other public health options. Past work experience is not necessary-- just a strong interest in health and public health and/or working with underserved communities in a health setting.

The focus of the Health Career Connection Program is juniors and seniors from undergraduate programs, as well as recent graduates (less than 3 years). Sophomores and freshman may be considered.

HCC strongly encourages students of color and those from disadvantaged backgrounds to apply. HCC aims to increase the ethnic diversity of health leaders.
