Position: Director of Youth, Adults and Community Engagement
Supervisor: Executive Director
Overview: University Settlement provides a comprehensive network of services to over 30,000 people of all ages living on the Lower East Side, in Brooklyn, and beyond. Its broad network of activities includes programs that reach the whole person, whole families and whole communities. University Settlement, a force for social progress for 128 years, continues to set the standard with pioneering programs in early childhood education, youth development, after-school programming, adult education, mental health, older adults programming, arts, community building, crisis intervention, and homelessness prevention and more.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all programs in Older Adults Program, Project Home, Houston Street Center, Ingersoll Community Center, After-school programs, Beacon Program, The Creative Center, Performance Project and Adult Literacy Program.
- Supervise the work of Program Directors through regular individual and group meetings; coach and mentor managers and leaders to develop professionally in support of organizational goals.
- Partner with Program Directors to design and develop new initiatives and policies and procedures within and beyond the Division; seek areas of integration and shared programming or resources across the agency to better serve our communities.
- Write proposals for public and private funding in collaboration with the Program Directors and the Development office.
