The 2013 UNH Viacom College Scholarship Program

United Neighborhood Houses (UNH) is currently seeking applications for the UNH Viacom College Scholarship Award for Graduating High School Seniors. By providing financial assistance for higher education, United Neighborhood Houses seeks to encourage and support the growth of future leaders who promote tolerance and positive community change.

This spring, UNH will award $2,000 each to up to 9 graduating high school seniors accepted into college undergraduate programs.  They are looking for young people who have demonstrated a commitment to promoting positive change within their community.  Students must be active participants in one of UNH programs and be nominated by an agency staff member.  The ideal candidate is a student who has demonstrated his/her potential as a future leader in fighting for social justice and community concerns.

The Viacom Scholarship application process will take place completely online through the UNH website.  All application materials will be uploaded to the UNH Hub, a members-only section of the website that requires a username and private password. Instructions on how to apply are attached. Note: Only a staff member from a UNH member agency will be able to submit the application online on behalf of the nominated student.

Please see the documents How to nominate a student for the 2013 Viacom College Scholarship Award and About The 2013 UNH Viacom College Scholarship Program for more information on the scholarship program, award qualifications, requirements and how to apply. After you read the document with instructions to apply, please click here for a direct link to the UNH Hub:  http://www.unhny.org/members/login.

Applications are due no later than 5:00pm, Friday, April19th.

Please contact UNH Deputy Director for Member Services, Snehal Majithia at smajithia@unhny.org or (212) 967-0322 x317 if you have any questions.
