Full Year Internship Opportunity With the NCAA

NCAA Postgraduate Internship
The NCAA Postgraduate Internship is a one-year program that provides on-the-job learning experiences for college graduates who express an interest in pursuing a career in intercollegiate athletics administration based at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis, Indiana.Position Areas
The NCAA is offering internships in the following areas for 2013-14:

  • Academic and Membership Affairs/Student-Athlete Reinstatement
  • Administrative Services
  • Communications (Digital Communications, Image Management and Strategy, Public and Media Relations)
  • Championships and Alliances
  • Enforcement
  • Governance
  • Student-Athlete Affairs and Inclusion
  • NCAA Eligibility Center

Interns are paid salaries of $24,000 in accordance with the NCAA national offices biweekly payroll and are provided the following benefits: ten days of annual leave, five sick days, individual health and dental insurance, disability and accident insurance, and workers compensation insurance, in addition to other staff benefits.

Only completed applications will be considered for review. The NCAA does not provide individual status updates on applications.

To complete the online application, each applicant will be required to select their top two areas of interest, attach a cover letter highlighting their relevant work experience and their resume. In addition, the two endorsers listed on the applicants online application will each need to submit a digital letter of recommendation to not later than December 7, 2012. 


The NCAA Postgraduate Internship program utilizes a selection committee comprised of NCAA national office staff members from each of the different position areas. After reviewing complete online applications, each area will select intern candidates for phone interviews. Intern candidates will be selected for in-person interviews at the NCAA national office based on the phone interviews. A select number of individuals will be invited to the national office for in-person interviews February 25-26, 2013. In order to be considered for the program, you must be available to attend an in-person interview on the date determined by the NCAA national office. Final intern selections will occur by March 29, 2013. The 2013-14 intern class will begin on Monday, June 17, 2013.

New Fellowship for College Seniors & Recent Grads!

Special Announcement for New Graduate School Fellowship for Entry into the USAID Foriegn Service!

On March 2, 2012 the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) announced the launch of a new fellowship program designed to attract outstanding young people to careers in international development.

The Donald M. Payne International Development Graduate Fellowship seeks to prepare young people for careers in international development as Foreign Service Officers in the U.S. Agency for International Development.  The Payne Fellowship Program provides benefits of up to $90,000 over two years toward a two-year master’s degree, arranges internships on Capitol Hill and at USAID missions overseas, and provides professional development and support activities leading to employment in USAID.  

Fellows may use the fellowship to attend a two-year master’s program in a U.S. institution to study an area of relevance to the USAID Foreign Service, including international relations, public policy, business administration, foreign languages, economics, agriculture, environmental sciences, health, or urban planning at a graduate or professional school approved by the Payne Program.

At the end of the two-year fellowship, Fellows enter the USAID Foreign Service.  The Program is funded by USAID and managed by Howard University.

Applicants must be college seniors or graduates looking to start graduate school in the fall of the year they apply, have GPAs of at least 3.2 and be U.S. citizens.
