An Exciting Fellowship Program!
Here’s an exciting opportunity for students to gain in-depth experience with community development in New York City!
Asian Americans for Equality (AAFE) is seeking applications for our Community Development Training Fellowship for the 2012-2013 academic year. The Fellowship will train and mobilize youth to connect with careers in comprehensive community development, with a focus on how issues such as affordable housing, small business development, transportation, civil rights, policy advocacy, and environmental sustainability affect local Asian American communities.
Participants will learn about the field of community development from a variety of perspectives through interactive workshops, mentorship and internship placements. Participants will build skills for community engagement and effective communication through completing a service-learning internship with a local community-based organization.
The Fellowship is open to all recent high school graduates and college students in the New York metropolitan area who have an interest in and commitment to community development, which includes the fields of urban planning, real estate, sustainable development, entrepreneurship, public policy, and community organizing, among others. A detailed description of the Fellowship is attached; and are also available on our website at http://www.aafe.org.
All interested applicants need to submit (1) the On-Line Application Form and (2) a Resume via email toshelma_jun@aafe.org no later than October 29, 2012, at 5 PM.
